BEGINNER CLASS INFO+

Our Beginner Classes are designed to teach you to the fundamentals of swordsmanship. We offer weekly beginner instruction in rapier, longsword, katana, épée and foil, helping new students develop proper mechanics, footwork, timing, and core fencing concepts. Unlike most sword schools, we allow beginner students to spar if they choose. We believe that, as long as students can do so safely, they shouldn't have to wait months before experiencing the excitement of fencing and putting what they've learned into practice. Beginner Class Schedule: Fridays: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM (Japanese Swordsmanship) Saturdays: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM (Rapier/Longsword) Sundays: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Kids Class/Agility Class) Age Requirement: Beginner classes are open to students ages 14 and up. A parent or legal guardian must be present for students under 18. Kids classes are open to ages 6 and up.

INTERMEDIATE CLASS INFO+

Intermediate classes are designed for students who want more fencing, more conditioning, and more intensity. In this class, we delve deeper into fencing mechanics, concepts, timing, strategy, and application while continuing to build on the fundamentals. Each class begins with stretching and mobility drills, followed by an agility workout before moving into the fencing lesson. Throughout class, students perform explosive power exercises between fencing drills to develop strength, speed, endurance, and athleticism that directly transfer to sword fighting. Classes rotate between one-handed and two-handed weapons, allowing students to gain experience with a wide variety of weapons and fighting styles. Whether your goal is to prepare for tournaments, improve your conditioning, burn calories, become a better athlete, or simply spend more time sword fighting, this class is for you. Beginners are also welcome to join this class. While the lessons go into greater depth, instructors work with students at their individual skill level, making the class suitable for both newer and experienced fencers.  Intermediate Class Schedule: Wednesdays: 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM Saturdays: 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM Age Requirement: Intermediate classes are open to students ages 16 and up.
